Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, The Steel Plant Museum/Heritage DiscoveRY Center is closed until further notice. This closure is a proactive measure to protect the health of the museum’s staff and volunteers in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with the mandates of Erie County and the national state of emergency. The Museum Board of Trustees will consider the decision on when to open based on guidance from state and local government officials.

Welcome to the Steel Plant Museum of Western New York, a small but dynamic museum interpreting Buffalo and WNY’s steelmaking history. We feature 2 rotating exhibits a year, a First Wednesday Speaker Series, and our annual “Rosie Tea”!

We are always interested in receiving new artifacts and oral histories from those who worked at the steel plants! If you have anything you want to donate for the exhibit, please contact our curator, by phone at 716-821-9361 or by email at steelplantmuseumwny@gmail.com
